Conditions of Employment

Your employment with TAFE NSW is covered by a wide variety of Industrial Awards and Human Resources Policies and Procedures.

These instruments outline the types of conditions you can expect from your employment with us such as different types of leave, a number of allowances dependant on the nature of your employment, your current salary and when you may expect an Award increase and many other conditions including your responsibility in claming these entitlements.

To access employee related forms you will need to search the SWSI Intranet site using the Policies and Other Documents (PoD) and type in Employee Services.


Performance Management & Development

All staff employed in TAFE NSW are covered under a formal Performance Management & Development Scheme. A PM&D scheme is to ensure a common understanding of standards expected of all employees and how these standards can be achieved. It involves communication between managers and employees and the provision of regular, ongoing feedback.

There are different PM&D schemes related to various job types;


Employee Self Service

Using the Employee Self Services (ESS), which your line manager will arrange access for you, you are able to view your payslips, leave balances and submit leave requests electronically. TAFE teachers are also able to use ESS to submit and approve their weekly timetables using the TAFE Teacher Program Diary (TPD).
