How We Communicate
The Institute uses a range of communication channels, including:
- The Intranet site
- Institute Director's Minutes - for announcements and other important information for all staff
- SharePoint sites - for use by each business unit or project group
- The repository for Policies and Other Documents (POD) - as a central store of current Institute documents
- Wiki sites - a place to collaborate and share teaching, learning and assessment resources and methods. It is also a place where you can have students interact and view learning materials online in a safe class-based environment.
- Moodles - SWSI Moodle is a Learning Management System (LMS), or Course Management System (CMS) that allows staff to:-
• use learning objects developed by the CLI or from LORN etc
• set online Quizzes which the Moodle can mark, provide feedback to students and collate and report the students’ results
• provide assignments and most other kinds of learning materials
• track their students’ access and attempts at the materials
- SWSITube - for pictorial and video resources resources. All of the Institute's OH&S videos are located on this site.
- Improvement Request Forms (IRF) - for general suggestions or improvements to processes or systems
The following links will require authorised approval from you Faculty to View. These links are used by Head Teachers to plan and monitor the section's performance.
- Buddy - for financial reports relating to your teaching section
- The Business and Education Support System (BESS) - for course planning information
