My First Session
Before you enter the classroom, workshop or laboratory you will have been briefed by your Head Teacher on the makeup of the class, its location, the course and syllabus requirements. The Head Teacher should be able to give you a list of student names to make up your first class. It is important that students are given all of the necessary, accurate and up to date information regarding assessment requirements for the unit or course they are enrolled in.
You must also, in the first few sessions, ensure that all students sign the Receipt of Assessment document. This must be retained as a paper record for audit purposes. This document can be printed out once all your students are in the appropriate roll book in CLAMS. Ask a teacher or Head Teacher to show you how this can be done in the REPORTS section of CLAMS.
If you do not have access to a class list at your first class make a careful paper record of names and the attendances. In the first session, make sure you sight all of the students' enrolment form receipts as they are not entitled to attend classes unless their enrolment is completed. You have the right to exclude anyone from the class who is unable to demonstrate that they are an enrolled student. Also, at your first class for the Semester students may need assistance with their log ons for access to the TAFE network, Student Services and WiFi.
