My First Term
There is now an enormous range of resources available to help you plan, deliver and assess both in the classroom and online. Our emphasis is more and more on customised, flexible delivery, providing employers and students with training which suits their specific needs, at times which suit. New learning technologies via the internet are a vital part of providing this flexibility. The challenge with so much available is not so much finding material as accessing quickly the information most relevant to the needs of our students and clients. You need to become familiar with such resources as the Learning Reference Repository, Teaching and Learning Exchange, the Centre for Learning Innovation, as well as becoming more familar with the Institute's own systems and processes via Sydnet. The major stakeholders and organisations in the VET sector - including Government and semi-Government agencies, have excellent websites, and some of the most important ones are listed below.
You will also get to know more about how the Institute can help you meet your students' needs, and perform your administrative roles more effectively.
Each of the links below will take you to important sources of information which you should become familiar with in the course of the Term. Some of these relate to "core business" or Institute priorities, and are considered essential knowledge which should be understood by all teachers (e.g. Rollbook Management, RPL). Other links are there to give you more information on how you can suppport your own and your students' learning.
