Leadership Development - Overview
Welcome to TAFE NSW Sydney Institute's Leadership development program. This program allows staff to develop and support personal and organisational leadership within the Institute. Developing leadership capability is a crucial driver for the success and sustainability of an organisation. Developing leadership capability leads to personal achievement and success.
Promoting leadership and entrepreneurial skills through workforce capability development is one of the key priorities included in Sydney Institute’s Strategic Plan Towards 2012.
Our Leadership Capability Framework identifies six key capabilities of a high performing leader: These capabilities have been grouped into three major areas:Vision where leaders develop strategy and provide direction and communicate with influence.Integrity where leaders demonstrate integity, awareness and self-management as well as cultivate productive relationships. Effectiveness,when leaders support and develop people and teams at the same time as achieving results

Head Teacher Program for 2012
This successful program will continue in 2012. Forums and Workshops for Head Teachers and aspiring Head Teachers are being developed. This program is driven by the Head Teacher Reference Group in conjuction with Workforce Development.

Leadership for Support Staff
This Program is designed to nurture productive relationships with a wide range of people to maximise their effectiveness at work. Through cooperation and partnerships, they can deliver greater value to customers and stakeholders. The Program supports and develops people and teams and develops leaders with integrity, it increases awareness of each other and an ability to manage independently. Strong personal qualities underpin leaders’ ability to positively influence others.
