Sucessful 2010 Projects at Sydney Insitute
TAFE NSW Sydney Institute submitted 9 proposals to Innovation E-learning 09 funding, three were successful.

| Empowering learners | St George | $28,547 - $32,397 | Lou Martini, Architectural Technology | Sustainability Analysis of Building Information Models The primary focus of this project is to develop and implement a series of online tutorials for learners enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Sustainable Design in the use of BIM CAD software and the development of Revit projects for integration into Ecotect. |

Applying for AFLF "E-Learning Innovations" Project Funding
Applications from Sydney Institute staff/sections require an internal submission process whereby applications are approved by a Review Committee and endorsed by the Institute Director before being submitted to the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (AFLF). It is important that you discuss your application with your line manger and attend submission writing workshops conductued by the Workforce Development Unit. Your project must align to Sydney Institutes's Business Plan as set out in the Sydney Institute Annual Plan 2010.
Sydney Institute sections may apply for funding within the E-Learning Innovations program. The timeline for applications is very short. Following is a process checklist for applications:

- Read the application guidelines carefully
- Read the working version of the 2010 E-learning Innovations Application Form
- Seek the support of your line manager and College management
- Attend Sydney Institute Hot Topic Conversation session on the 3 February 1 pm - 2 pm (This is an essential session to ensure a full understanding of the expectations of your projects.
- Consider attending an AFLF information session.
There are 2 sessions.
An online session conducted in Adobe Connect: 12 February 2.30-4pm
A face-to-face session is being held in Sydney on 16 February 10:00am Level 4, 1 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst

- Once you have decided to proceed with an application, attend the Sydney Institute application writing workshop (or a representative from your team). If you are interested in applying for this funding with an industry partner, please invite the industry partner to this session. This will be held on the 10 February in DG.40 or at the connected Classrooms at St George D2.16 and C1.04 at Loftus College . Register your interest to attend by contacting Batol Wardi on 9217 3731 or via email. At this workshop you will be developing your draft submission.
- Ensure the project meets the business directions of the Institute

- Check out last years teams and look over thier projects for ideas and inspiration. Check out the 2009 E-Learning showcase, the plenary sessions have been podcast.
- Complete the working version of the submission, meeting all of the guidelines (including budget requirements) and in the format requested by the funding body. Please note: If you fail to complete the submission to this standard it will not be approved by the Sydney Institute Review Committee.
- All submissions must then be submitted to the Sydney Institute Review Committee by COB 22 February
This is necessary so that the Review Committee can endorse your submission and provide time for sign off by the Institute Director.

Key Dates:
28 January - 10 February - Consider your project, project team and partnership for your application for the E-Learning Innovations projects (essential).
3 February - Attend Sydney Institute Hot Topic conversation to understand the process and criteria (essential)
10 February (2hr) Application Writing Workshop DG.40 or at Sutherland-Loftus C1.04 at 9.30 - 11.30 or 1 - 3 pm. Prior to this session, ensure you consult with your Line Manager and/or College management regarding priorities. At this workshop a draft application will be developed.
11 - 19 February Further advice can be sought from the Workforce Development Unit in relation to your application.
12 February 2:30-4:00 pm - Online AFLF Information Session (optional)
16 February 10:00 am F2F AFLF Information Session ( (Level 4, 1 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst) (optional)
22 February (Monday) Submissions emailed to Workforce Development Unit for the approval of the Review Committee.
26 February (Friday) Endorsement by Institute Director.
2 March (Tuesday) Applications to the AFLF Close
