2011 NSW E-learning Innovations Projects
Applying for AFLF "E-Learning Innovations" Project Funding at Sydney Insitute
Applications from Sydney Institute staff/sections require an internal submission process whereby applications are approved by a review committee and endorsed by the Institute Director before being submitted to the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (AFLF). It is important that you discuss your application with your line manger and attend submission writing workshops conductued by the Workforce Development Unit. Your project must align to Sydney Institutes's Business Plan as set out in the Sydney Institute Annual Plan 2010.
Sydney Institute sections may apply for funding within the E-Learning Innovations program. The timeline for applications is very short. Following is a process checklist for applications:
E-Learning Innovations 2011 funding process checklist
- Read the application guidelines carefully
- Read the working version of the 2011 E-learning Innovations Application Form
- Seek the support of your line manager and college management
- Attend the online Sydney Institute Hot Topic Conversation session on the 8 September 1 - 2 pm
(This is an essential session to ensure a full understanding of the expectations of your projects.)
- Consider attending a AFLF information session.
There are 3 sessions suitable for Sydney Institute staff.
An online session conducted in Adobe Connect: 1 September 1:30-3:30 pm
A face-to-face session is being held in Sydney on 2 September 10:00-12:00 am Level 1 Conference Room, 1 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. NSW 2010
An online session conducted in Adobe Connect: 10 September 10:00-12:00 pm

- Once you have decided to proceed with an application, attend the Sydney Institute application writing workshop (or a representative from your team). If you are interested in applying for this funding with an industry partner, please invite the industry partner to this session. At this workshop you will be developing your draft submission.
This will be held on Thurs 9 September in C-108 Ultimo, 9:30 - 1:30 pm , or via the connected Classrooms in Virtual Meeting Room Number: 5650271

- Ensure the project meets the business directions of the Institute

Sydney Institute Market Segments- Watch the Directors address on the topic
- Check this years sucessful teams and look over their projects for ideas and inspiration. Make contact with the project managers and discuss the process and the detials of thier applications. Check out the 2009 E-Learning showcase, the plenary sessions have been podcast.
- Complete the working version of the submission, meeting all of the guidelines (including budget requirements) and in the format requested by the funding body. Please note: If you fail to complete the submission to this standard it will not be approved by the Sydney Institute Review Committee.
- All submissions must then be submitted to the Sydney Institute Review Committee by COB Wednesday 22 September 2010
This is necessary so that the Review Committee can endorse your submission and provide time for sign off by the Institute Director.
