ePortfolios: Getting started with Mahara
Overview
This 3 hr workshop provides attendees with an over view of ePortfolios for use with in the VET environment.It looks at how ePortfolios can be used by learners to stores digital media in a range of forms for presentation to a variety of audiences and contexts including Skills recognition processes, assessment, assignments or resumes.
The workshop also provides participants the opportunity to gain hands on experience using the Mahara ePortfolio platform.

Activities
Participants are asked to bring to the following to the workshop
- a simple training package competency which they can use to create a view
- Images in jpg format which could be uploaded as artefacts
- MS Office Documents which can be uploaded as artefacts
- Video in flv format which uploaded as artefacts (this is optional and can be downloaded from blip.tv)
- Audio file in mp3 format uploaded as artefacts (this is optional and can be downloaded from a podcast)
