Internet access using a Apple iphone/itouch/ipad

It is possible to access the internet using the Sydney Institute wireless network using a Apple iPhone, iTouch or iPad.

  1. Turn on your wi-fi located under general settings and connect to the detnswAccess Point

  2. Click on the blue configuration arrow and set the Http Proxy to Manual
    Enter the following ip address into the Server field 153.107.103.10
    Enter 8080 into the Port field and Authentication to OFF

  3. Using the safari web brower Navigate to a website, authenticate with your DET username and password to access the internet. (NOTE: Don't add the @det or @edu after your username this time)

  4. Internet connectivity will be more stable and consistent if you have the latest OS4 installed which enables multi-tasking.
