Learning Reference Repository
The LRR is designed to make it easy to store, search, and find learning resources. It is managed by the Learning Systems and Publishing (LSP) team at the Centre for Learning and Innovation (CLI). As well as being able to use resources as is from LRR you can also modify them to your own needs. Once you have completed the necessary training you are also able to load resoruces that you have created onto LRR. Items that are currently "underdevelopment" can have records created for them on LRR so that others can see what is coming out soon. Items that are ready can be put onto LRR so that they can only be seen from your institute or by all TAFENSW - if they can be seen by all TAFENSW they are searchable on TaLe.
Training to load items in the LRR takes only a short time. Contact the L&I section for more information.

CURLS
CURLS site (social bookmarking) opens the door to new ways of organising bookmarks and categorising online teaching and learning resources. The creator of a bookmark assigns tags to each resource, resulting in a user-directed, method of classifying information. CURLS site indicates who created each bookmark and provides access to that person's other bookmarked resources, users can easily make connections with other individuals interested in just about any topic. Users can also see how many people have used a tag and search for all resources that have been assigned that tag using tag clouds. In this way, the community of users over time will develop a unique structure of keywords to define resources -- something that has come to be known as a "folksonomy".
CURLS is an open source social bookmarking application that offers functionality similar to the popular web site del.icio.us. For this pilot CURLS has been modified to suit the needs of DET NSW teachers and students. The beta release of CURLS application has been integrated with the DET NSW Portal login for seamless access from within the department and through the DET NSW Portal at home.
