This session will provide an overview of the Disability Services at Sydney Institute, Key Contacts for Disability Teacher Consultants; A student’s perspective; TC Case Studies, difficulties students may experience; and Inclusive teaching strategies. This session has been coordinated by the Sydney Institute Equity Unit and developed by a team of Teacher Consultants, Disability across Sydney Institute.


Topics include:

  • Overview of the SI Disability Services, terminology, legislation, issues around identification, disclosure and privacy, key contacts and the referral process
  • Teacher Consultants share with you great Inclusive teaching tips you can use in delivery to enhance your teaching and improve student outcomes for students who may be struggling
  • A student perspective - Listen to a student who has benefited from the support of Disability Services and who is a recipient of a Sydney Institute Equity Scholarship
  • TC’s case study and useful links.
