Learning Technology Mentor 2009 - About Me
Hello and welcome to my page
My name is Gihan and I am currently teaching at Eora college. I am an IT and literacy teacher in the General Education section. My section has begun to use a variety of technologies in order to enahnce students learning. Some of the teachers are using Wiki's and Blogs, also, the college has recently installed a panaboard and some of the teachers have been using it at a very basic level. Many of the staff feel that we could be maximising the teaching and learning enivornment by exploring the potential of the different technologies.
The college has had a couple of students who have recently enroled as distant students a. Many of the teachers are interested in learning the appropriate technology in order cater for these students
I am thrilled to be participated in the LTM program as I have always been interested in implementing techology in education. I plan to assist the teachers at Eora in selecting suitable technologies to suit their section and hope to successfully contribute to the embedding of all the new technologies in my college.
Areas of interest are: blogs, wiki's, video conferencing, smart boards/ebeams and learning programs such as capivate and adobe connect.
I am looking forward to mentoring the teachers and Eora and hope they are as enthusiastic as I am
